The drama Lockdown, which is directed by A R Jeeva and star Anupama Parameswaran, has been postponed again and it is still uncertain when the new date would be. The production house that is responsible for the delay is the studio backing the film, Lyca Productions. It is
With an official statement on X, the production company announced,"#Lockdown has been postponed. The new release date will be shared soon." They went on to say, "We understand the excitement surrounding the film and are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the audiences, the theatres, and the distributors. We are determined to showcase the film under the best conditions possible and really value your patience and support."
This is the second occasion of delay out of two weeks. The release that was originally scheduled for December 5 was first put off due to very heavy rains which were a result of cyclone Ditwah and the public safety was taken into consideration. However, when the weather cleared, the new date announced was December 12 but now the release of the film has been pushed even further.
The film already has U/A certificate, Lockdown is drawn from a true story that is very engaging. The teaser gives a clue about a dramatic tale with Anitha (Anupama Parameswaran), a young lady who faces fear, keeps secrets and is harassed during the 21 days of lockdown for COVID-19. Her alarmed behavior, such as the frantic efforts to get money and medical supplies, serves to increase the tension of the drama.
Subaskaran of Lyca Productions is the producer of the film which reckons a cast of actors that includes Charlie, Nirosha, Livingston, and Indhumathi.
