Akhanda 2 Update: Why Hyderabad Tickets Are Unavailable & When Fans Can Expect the Release

Akhanda 2, the much-awaited sequel to Nandamuri Balakrishna's 2021 action blockbuster, has been postponed indefinitely only a few hours before its planned release. Gulte.com reports that the financial difficulties encountered by the producers have led to the postponement of the film thus trading circles and fans have been severely hurt, especially where the already high Balayya-Boyapati hype is concerned.

Through a rather remorseful post on social media, the film crew said, “The news about #Akhanda2 not being released on the stipulated date because of unavoidable circumstances comes from us with a lot of sorrow. It is a sad time for us, and we really empathize with every fan and cinema-goer who has been waiting for this film and feels the disappointment that it brings. We will do everything in our power to sort this out soonest. Please accept our sincere apologies for the trouble caused. We value your support more than anything. We will soon have a good news update to share with you.”

Akhanda 2, originally set for a nationwide launch on December 5, is now the fourth-straight partnership between Balakrishna and the director Boyapati Srinu. Moreover, the film has stepped up Harshaali Malhotra from the Hindi film industry to Tollywood and also casting Aadhi Pinisetty as the baddy. The movie is produced by Raam Achanta and Gopinath Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and is being presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri.

Hyderabad Ticket Hike

As per the Indian Express, the Telangana government has granted an increase in ticket prices for Akhanda 2 for three days, which was announced just a day before the release was planned. Andhra Pradesh, on the other hand, had already allowed a hike for 10 days, which shows the film's blockbuster expectations.

Budget Insights

Reports from OTT Play suggest that Akhanda 2 was made on an extravagant ₹200 crore budget, a significant amount of which was devoted to actor payments, visual effects, and stunts, thus marking it as one of the costliest ventures in Tollywood.
