Akhanda 2 Delivers Massive Opening, Becomes Balakrishna’s Second-Biggest Weekend Grosser

Despite experiencing a tough time prior to Akhanda movie release, Nandamuri Balakrishna has made an impressive comeback at the box office. The veteran actor has been growing his market constantly and delivering success after success ever since. His new movie, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, has now become a part of his successful run.

The film has opened to encouraging audience response and strong collections. During its initial weekend, Akhanda 2 grossed ₹85.9 crore which was the second-biggest opening of three days in Balakrishna’s career with a worldwide share of ₹51.45 crore. The movie that got mixed word-of-mouth has still been able to collect great numbers, which is a sign of the actor's continuous appeal at the box office.

In case the film had got 100% positive talk, the opening figures could have been higher even more. When it comes to opening figures, Daaku Maharaj, which was released earlier this year during the Sankranti season, still holds the record for the biggest three-day opening among Balakrishna's movies.

In the past, films like Akhanda and Bhagavanth Kesari started slowly but gained the public's interest afterwards and thus, enjoyed long, profitable runs. A similar trajectory is now being keenly watched for Akhanda 2, especially given its strong initial performance.
