Akhanda 2 Delayed: Travels 475 km Only to Disappointment—Producers Targeted by Angry Reactions

Extremely inconsolable for fans who have been waiting from all over the world for the film of extreme watch Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda 2 was unexpected with last moment postponement. There are innumerable experiences where many traveled hundreds of kilometers, booked premium tickets, and waited for hours before theaters and told that the movie didn't release on Dec. 5 in its scheduled time.

Postponed at the Very Last Hour

Directed by Boyapati Srinu and produced by 14 Reels Plus, the film, Akhanda 2 was expected to premiere in theaters with grand premieres on December 5th. Just to everyone's horror, the good news was done away with firmly established after the production house announced in the wee hours of the night that Akhanda 2 could not be shown anymore due to "unavoidable reasons."

This made many fans who had reached the theaters and came in from far-off villages collapse of poor and questioned.

Fans Traveling 475 km Only to Find Disappointment

An incident at Hyderabad’s Prasads PCX multiplex went viral. A fan shared on social media: “Just to suffer the insult of the situation, my brother Manoj and his 10 friends dared to travel 475 km to catch Akhanda 2 at the PCX screen; they left at 5 in morning and came back disheartened.” The story appealed to a number of Balayya fans who were in the same dilemma at the doors of cinema houses, getting dejection notes in return.

Fans Abroad Also Guilty

Balakrishna fans residing in the US and Europe shared similar feelings of despair.

Despite bitter cold, fans joined the queue in America to gain a ticket to the show. But then, at the ticket counter, they were informed of the postponement.

"Last-moment backpedalling of events is completely disheartening for US fans," a viewer posted.

In Germany, a fan named asrumored as having to pay an exorbitant rate for the first ticket to Akhanda - ₹2 lakh. In the wild, to standing ovation on the hearts of an array of shock-struck and sympathizing fans pouring comments like "A moment so- breathtaking for every Balayya fan worldwide."

Fans Respond to Producers.

Frustration quickly turned to anger from the disclosure, especially because they didn't set a new date for release.

One fan said on Twitter:

“Today 3AM caught on the clock of my beautiful country, and still no word from the banners? Is this shame on us?”

And another Twitter user posted:

“You must have been working all day and all night... Yet it has been 11 hours with nothing clear at all.”

Fans are demanding a transparent, coherent perspective for the loved ones eagerly awaiting Akhanda 2 following a great countdown of expenses and long-distance journeys.

"Sometimes things beyond our control like some law and order given by 14 Reels Entertainment stop Akhanda 2 from releasing on the intended date, but it's to be figured out soon. Please hold on a bit longer as we will be glad to return with that positive piece of info."

Why Was Akhanda 2 Stopped? — The Real Reason

That was brought to light fairly simply following the uproar around the circuits.

Eros International Media Ltd. issued that they had gotten an injunction from Madras High Court against 14 Reels Entertainment due to their unpaid dues.

Reportedly, 14 Reels has some dues to be cleared to the tune of ₹28 crores to Eros.

The court order puts the lock on any participation in a release process, as well as any distribution or subsequent use for the commercial purpose of Akhanda 2 until the settlement of accounts.

This was the roadblock that brought the movie crashing down just before its curtain raiser.

In a rather large audience of Balakrishna fans, an event that would have been largely celebrated was darkened. With emotions running high, the fans presently await a fresh update from the makers. Hence Akhanda 2 will remain stuck until the legal issues are sorted out while the disappointment persists.
