Bollywood star Ajay Devgn has decided to plunge into the business of multiplexes in Hyderabad, although his operational policy deviates quite some from what one would have presumed.

In the atmosphere of the recent Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, the subject of major film industry investments into Hyderabad had popped up. There were some reports about plans for a new film studio in the city of Hyderabad and the earnest interest that Salman Khan has in setting up this state-of-the-art studio, and so on. There were also some rather solid whispers regarding Ajay Devgn examining a similar venture of having his studio.

However, the realities turned out to be in DBS Crystal.

Ajay Devgn actually wants a movie theater.

Devgn CineX: A Pan-India Multiplex Mission

Ajay Devgn is thinking about launching an all-India movie theater venture branded "Devgn CineX" after his name. The actor plans to roll out 250 movie screens in India over a period and position them as a premium cinema chain.

Devgn already runs a cinema hall with the Devgn CineX brand in Gurgaon. Ajay Devgn had teamed with Kajol before to launch the multiplex brand NY Cinemas, named after their kids Nysa and Yug. The brand has now been rebranded as Devgn CineX, which shows a clearly defined long-term and future business expansion driven by a big name.

Luxury Devgn CineX Multiplex Lands in Hyderabad

The expansion will bring a new Devgn CineX multiplex to Hyderabad very soon. To be established inside the Collegium Mall at Karmanghat, Ajay Devgn is planning to inaugurate a seven-screen luxury multiplex. Devgn is expected to enter Telangana’s cinema exhibition market with the project expected to open next year.

The launch of Hyderabad is a crucial part of Devgn’s agenda to take his CineX brand to major cities in India.

Fighting with the Star-Operated Multiplexes of Tollywood

Ajay Devgn's move will not leave much work for Tollywood superstars dominating today Hyderabad's multiplex space SIMULTANEOUSLY. By naming Asian Cinemas as partners, these big boys of Tollywood have set up their brand cinemas.

ADM Cinema by Mahesh Babu, AAA Cinema by Allu Arjun, and ART Cinema by Ravi Teja are already up and running.

In addition, AMB Classic, being established by Mahesh Babu along with Venkatesh, will be opening soon. It is being heard that the Allu family is also making plans for a major studio and multiplex at the city's outskirts. With the advent of Devgn CineX, modernization in filing will also bring an increase in competition to the already busy multiplex market of Hyderabad.

Ajay Defyingly Rocks Movie Line-Up*

Last seen in Son of Sardaar2 and then De De PyarDe 2, the performance of latter was just above par at the box office. Presently, he has a considerable number of films coming on the platter, to mention some: Drishyam 3, Dhamaal 4, and Ranger, all going to release in the year 2026- quite the eye-catcher for all to keep an eye on.

How the Devgn Cineplex widescreen will perform vis-à-vis established multiplex brands that enjoy the backing of Telugu cinema stalwarts is worth a thought.
