In a decisive military operation, India carried out a series of targeted strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, under the codename "Operation Sindoor." This military action, which was in response to the horrific Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed the lives of over 26 individuals, aimed to neutralize terror elements responsible for such attacks.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government emphasized that the operation was a focused and measured strike, designed to avoid collateral damage to civilian populations in Pakistan. The Indian Army, with precise coordination, executed the operation without targeting any military installations in Pakistan. According to the Ministry of Defence, the strikes were limited in scope, focused solely on terrorist infrastructure, and were carried out without provocation.

The Indian military's precision strikes are being hailed as a strategic move in the ongoing fight against terrorism, with the government reiterating its stance that terrorism should not be tolerated and that action would be taken to protect its citizens.

Amid the media focus on Operation Sindoor, the name has also brought to light the 1987 Bollywood film "Sindoor." Directed by K. Ravi Shankar, this film starred prominent actors like Shashi Kapoor, Jaya Prada, and Govinda, alongside supporting roles by Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, and others. The film, which was a remake of the Tamil movie Unnai Naan Santhithen, was well-received at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 1987.

Despite facing competition from other major releases, including Watan Ke Rakhwale, "Sindoor" managed to secure commercial success. Released on August 14, 1987, the movie's cast featured notable names like Ashok Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, and Sridevi. The film’s success at the box office continues to be remembered by fans of Bollywood’s golden era.
