TCS to Create 5,000 New Jobs in the UK Over the Next Three Years
Indian IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to hire 5,000 people in the United Kingdom (UK) over the next three years as a part of its expansion strategy. The company has also announced the opening of an AI Experience Zone and Design Studio in London, another key boost in its European footprint.
TCS has been a premier technology partner to UK enterprises for over 50 years, helping with digital transformation and talent creation across industries. Currently, it directly and indirectly supports more than 42,000 jobs in the country.
The AI Experience Zone and Design Studio have been set up to spur innovation as well as collaboration between TCS and clientele. This is the second design studio by the company, after its New York Design Studio that was initiated in September.
UK Government Saves Splash for TCS Investment
Jason Stockwood, Minister for Investment for the UK, was full of praise for the announcement:'
"Tata Group has been a beacon of entrepreneurship and philanthropy for nearly 150 years. With the continued investment of TCS, we associate once again with the economic partnership between our two countries — creating employment, innovating, and stimulating growth."
A business delegation visited the TCS Banyan Park campus in Mumbai during UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer's visit to India, where Oxford Economics launched a report spotlighting TCS' contribution to the UK economy.
The report revealed that, in FY2024, TCS brought in £3.3 billion to the UK economy while paying £780 million in taxes — enough to pay for more than 20,000 teachers' salaries. The firm operates from 19 sites throughout the UK, employing 15,300 professionals in training, engineering, and technology roles like data analytics.
TCS Strengthens UK Market Presence
Vinay Singhvi, Head of TCS UK & Ireland, said,
“The UK remains our second-largest market globally and is central to our worldwide investment strategy. The new AI Experience Zone will enhance collaboration with UK corporates to stay ahead in AI and emerging technologies.”
TCS serves clients across all industries-from financial services, retail, manufacturing, and life sciences to the public sector-reaffirming its position as a technology partner driving digital transformation in the UK.
