Wiley signs 4 yr open access pact with BITS Pilani
The partnership allows scholars and researchers from BITS Pilani to access Wiley’s journals and publish open access articles in Wiley’s collection of nearly 2,000 journals

Hyderabad: Wiley, a major publisher and a leader in research and learning, has signed a four-year open access agreement with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani). Effective from 2024 through 2027, this collaboration aims to improve access to scholarly resources for BITS Pilani, a prominent Indian higher education institute.
This marks Wiley's second open access agreement in India and its first with BITS Pilani. The partnership allows scholars and researchers from BITS Pilani to access Wiley’s journals and publish open access articles in Wiley’s collection of nearly 2,000 journals, including both hybrid and fully gold open access titles.
Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Vice-chancellor of BITS Pilani, stated, “Our partnership with Wiley aims to create an open science culture, enabling the progress of science and fostering cooperation among researchers. BITS Pilani supports open access publishing and open scholarship, which are crucial for high standard academic publishing.”
