As the festival season draws near, the junior colleges in Telangana make preparations for Dussehra break expected to start from September 28, 2025. The eight-day holiday will let the young people celebrate Dussehra and Bathukamma, an important cultural event in the state.
Junior Colleges to Observe Holidays for Dussehra Till October 5
As per the official schedule, all the junior colleges in Telangana shall remain closed from the 28th of September till the 5th of October 2025. The school students have been observing the Dussehra holidays since the 21st of September and these holidays shall end on the 3rd of October; however, the junior college students have been given a shorter holiday keeping in view academic and curriculum needs.
Earlier, before the festive spell, schools were given directions to have completed Formative Assessment-2 (FA-2) exams by the 21st of September. Post-study break and recommencement of junior college classes, preparation for half-yearly exams scheduled from the 10th of November till the 15th of November 2025 will commence. Simultaneously, school children will start preparations for the Summative Assessment-1 (SA-1) exams held between the 24th and the 31st of October 2025.
