SSC Phase XIII Re-Exam on August 29 for 59,500 Candidates
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced that nearly 59,500 candidates affected by technical glitches during the Selection Posts Phase-XIII Examination 2025 will be given a re-examination on August 29, 2025. The exam will be held in three shifts.
According to the official notification, city intimation details were made live on August 22, and admit cards have been available for download since August 26 (5 pm onwards) through the SSC candidate portal at ssc.gov.in. Candidates will also be notified via email and SMS by their respective regional offices.
SSC Chairman Confirms Steps Taken
SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan said in a press briefing, “A detailed log analysis has been done and about 59,000 candidates have been identified for whom three special exam shifts have been scheduled on August 29.”
He also confirmed that the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2025, originally set for August 13, has been postponed to mid-September to ensure technical issues are fully resolved. “The entities concerned — whether the exam conducting agency or content providers — are bound by strict service-level agreements and face deterrent penalties for any shortcomings in performance,” he added.
Protests and Assurances
The announcement comes a day after SSC aspirants and coaching teachers staged protests at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan over repeated disruptions in computer-based exams.
Gopalakrishnan reassured candidates that recent SSC stenographer exams (August 6–8) were completed smoothly, and robust measures are being implemented to avoid disruptions in the upcoming CGL examination.
