Snow and icy conditions across Western North Carolina force schools to close, delay openings, and shift to remote learning.

Western North Carolina received a dusting of snow on Feb. 22 in some areas, school closures,
remote learning and delayed beginning days Feb. 23. The higher elevation nations near the
Tennessee border are receiving weather forecasts of accumulating snow, freezing temperatures
and high winds. It makes the Monday morning travel conditions more dangerous.
Many other schools have also turned to their planned Virtual classrooms after consecutive
winter storms blanketed the North Carolina Mountains with ice, snow, and freezing rain. The
added dusting of snow on Feb. 5 endorsed schools across the mountains to declare delays,
closings once again for Thursday, Feb. 5.

WVA students will follow the set planning established by WVA. All high school students will
start the instruction at 10:30 a.m.

security while getting ready for the best possible extra schedule adjustments later this week.
