Hyderabad: The growing shift among young Indians toward creative and design-oriented careers was in focus as the World University of Design (WUD), hosted a counsellors’ meet in Hyderabad. The event highlighted Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as among the institution’s strongest and fastest-growing talent pools, with 12–15 per cent of WUD’s design students coming from the two states. The meet brought together over 1,000 school principals and counsellors from across both states to discuss evolving career trends and the rising appeal of design, fashion, animation, and creative technologies—fields once considered unconventional. WUD shared insights into how design education is shaping Gen Z’s aspirations and opening global opportunities for Indian students.
