Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Nischal’s Smart Learning Solutions, a company specializing in K-12 education, recently conducted a survey on teaching methods. The survey, conducted after a workshop with 600 participants from 183 schools in Kurnool and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh, aimed to assess educators' interest in using 3D interactive technology for teaching mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. Teachers used portable micro-scale laboratories during the workshop to connect theory with practical application.

Feedback from the workshop showed a preference for kinaesthetic learning. In Kurnool District, 43% of teachers rated hands-on learning as ‘Excellent’ for enhancing conceptual clarity, while 55% saw its value in education delivery as ‘Good’. In Kadapa District, 52% rated the workshop as ‘Excellent’ and 48% as ‘Good’, indicating overall approval.

Combining data from both districts, the survey concluded that 99% of teachers prefer experiential teaching methods over traditional ones.

The survey also highlighted challenges faced by Indian schools, with over 1.5 million lacking proper laboratories due to financial and infrastructural constraints. Research shows that children understand concepts better through hands-on experience, yet 90% of schools struggle with implementing such methods due to limited resources and teacher training.

The survey was conducted in collaboration with four institutions, including Govt. Girls High School, B-Camp, Kurnool; Sri. Chaithanya High School, Adoni; S.P.G. High School, Nandyala; and Sacred Heart Pastoral Centre, Kadapa, were attended by local government officials and the State Project Director.

The survey underscores the need for acceptance and implementation of kinaesthetic education methods among teachers and students nationwide.
