Hyderabad: The Indian School of Business (ISB) has introduced a comprehensive review of its Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP) to adapt to the dynamic business environment.

The revamped curriculum focuses on three key aspects: a more customised and flexible structure to cater to diverse student backgrounds, a shift towards activity-based learning methods for improved adaptability, and a built-in system for continual curriculum renewal to meet future market demands.

With an eye on personalised and experiential learning, the newly established Centre for Learning and Teaching Excellence will drive ongoing enhancements in content and curriculum design.

Recognising the importance of flexibility in its diverse student body, ISB has increased the elective options, allowing students to shape up to 60% of the programme according to their career objectives. Core course credits have been reduced to 14, with four chosen from an expanded list, providing students with a more tailored educational experience.

Enhancements to the Analytics curriculum, including new courses on innovative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), reflect ISB's commitment to meeting the demands of a data-driven business landscape.

To accommodate these changes, ISB has adjusted its one-year programme structure, introducing "block weeks" for shorter-term courses between regular terms. The Office of Experiential Learning will offer hands-on experiences like field immersions and industry projects, bridging theory with practice.

Dean Madan Pillutla emphasized that the changes were driven by the evolving job market and the need for diverse skill sets. The curriculum's evolution was informed by faculty research on future work trends, and input from alumni, recruiters, and industry stakeholders.

Moving forward, ISB plans to phase in additional services such as academic advisory to help students select cross-functional electives, promoting a broad skill set for adaptability.

ISB, India’s top-ranked business school, continues to position itself as a global leader in emerging markets, supported by a research-oriented faculty, academic partnerships, a strong alumni network, and industry guidance.
