IIM-Vizag holds 4th, 5th convocation

Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar has emphasised the need to assess social science institutions such as the Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) on their social impact and urged the graduating batches to migrate from a profit maximisation mindset to that of valuing quadruple bottom line — economy, ecology, social contribution, and equity.

He was delivering the chief guest's address at the fourth and fifth convocation of IIM-Visakhapatnam in virtual mode on Saturday. He spoke on the need to bring traditional knowledge to mainstream awareness through robust scientific research, and the value of democratic principles and social welfare in India's economic progress. Hari S. Bhatia, Chairperson, Board of Governors, spoke on the changing social and work milieu with the advent of digital technology and social media, and urged the outgoing batches to stay agile and humble in their professional journeys.

Chandrasekhar M, Director, IIM-Visakhapatnam, in his address to the graduating batches, listed the achievements of the outgoing cohorts and emphasised the value of focus and professionalism.
