Visakhapatnam: Justice Sri Narasimha, Judge, Supreme Court of India on Friday said aspiring legal professionals have ample opportunities to explore and congratulated all the graduates and shared words of wisdom as they embarked on a new chapter of their journey.
He was speaking at the Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU)'s combined convocation for the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th batches organised here in the presence of several legal veterans.
The occasion was graced by eminent dignitaries including Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, who delivered the convocation address. The event was presided over by Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Chancellor of DSNLU.
Speaking of the opportunities ahead, Justice Narasimha noted that the graduates were stepping into the world at a time when India, as a vibrant and rapidly progressing nation, is asserting its place globally through its economic potential and steadfast commitment to the rule of law.
He encouraged them to embrace the vast landscape of possibilities and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth, while building a life grounded in character and purpose.
Justice Maheshwari, Judge, Supreme Court, in his address referred to his earlier role as Chancellor and shared that the occasion was deeply personal. He urged graduates to pause and appreciate the support of professors, friends, staff, and parents. Emphasizing that law is more than a career, he encouraged students to have the courage to forge their own path, reminding them that law empowers them to shape the
world as it ought to be.
Justice Surya Kant's address included a high note of optimism as he began by expressing heartfelt appreciation to all the dignitaries present and noted the meaningful coincidence of the convocation falling on Teachers’ Day, offering special gratitude to educators.
He congratulated all the graduates, highlighting that the legal profession is among the most complex and significant, demanding not only intellect, but also strength of spirit. He thanked the parents, mentors, and friends who stood by the graduates, and spoke about the journey of self-discovery, emphasising the importance of authenticity over destination. Drawing from personal experiences, he encouraged students to remain curious, embrace change, and define success on their own terms.
