Vizag youth gets award in Singapore

A city youth, Malla Uma Maheswara Rao has been awarded ‘Commendation Medal (Covid-19)’ by the Prime Minister Office, Singapore for offering yeoman service during the pandemic.

Rao, who hails from Kurmannapalem in the city, is currently working as Assistant Director in Synapse (MOH Company), Singapore supporting IT systems for public healthcare and public hospitals. He played a critical role managing IT systems used in vaccination operations across Singapore. The Prime Minister’s Office, Singapore announced a special category of national awards in December last to recognise people who extended commendable service during COVID-19. The awards were presented at a special ceremony on Monday by the Minister for Health of Singapore.
