New Delhi: The Income Tax Department has launched a new website, ‘Kar Saathi’, to simplify tax filing and enhance user experience. Announced via its official X handle, the platform offers a single access point for all direct tax-related information with improved navigation and speed.
A key feature is ‘Kar Saathi’, an AI-powered assistant providing 24x7 support to help taxpayers with queries and compliance. The initiative is part of a broader digital push to modernise tax administration and support the transition to the new Income Tax Act, 2025.
The rollout of services will take place in phases, as highlighted by Central Board of Direct Taxes Chairman Ravi Agrawal during the PRARAMBH outreach programme. Additionally, rules have been reduced from 510 to 333 and forms from 399 to 190, easing compliance and potentially eliminating requirements for over six crore transactions.
