Visakhapatnam/Vijayawada Ahead of their proposed indefinite strike from February 7, government employees across the State went on pen down protest on Saturday.

To hammer out a solution, the State Government initiated dialogue with the representatives of Pay Revision Commission Sadhana Samiti from Friday evening.

Sources told Bizz Buzz that there was progress on HRA and few other demands but the promise by ruling YSR Congress Party to scrap Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) has emerged as a thorny issue.

Municipal Minister Botcha Satyanarayana said that they are hopeful of an amicable solution.

As part of pen down agitation, the computer systems were shutdown bringing government transactions to a standstill.

The Minister said retaining the old HRA and put on hold recovery from excess Interim Relief (IR) if any are the key demands.

Meanwhile, Joint Active Committee of APSRTC employees' unions said they are fully geared up go on indefinite strike along with the PRC Sadana Samiti.
