A team of three entrepreneurs from the city have set up an eco-friendly ACP (aluminium composite panels) manufacturing unit near Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district with an investment of nearly Rs 50 crore.
By importing aluminium coated sheets from China, the factory produces materials replacing plywood for construction of interiors, cupboards, wall partitions and false ceilings. The project took six to eight months for grounding from the time of conceptualisation. It has come up in two acres with potential to provide 80 to 100 jobs to locals and a production capacity of 15 lakh sft per month, to start with. The promoters want to scale up production in phases and double the capacity in the next six months.
