In a significant stride towards bolstering energy efficiency across India, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) a JV of national power utilities and the Delhi-based Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) have inked an MoU to chart a course for cooperation between the two organisations, delineating vital strategies to enhance energy efficiency in various proactive States like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, Union Territories like Andaman & Nicobar islands and Ladakh.

During an interaction with EESL CEO Vishal Kapoor on various aspects of the MoU, AEEE Chairman Dr Sateesh said on Sunday that based on the report of AEEE ranking i.e. Energy Efficiency Index for around 10 States, Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has announced top ranking frontrunner States including AP. In the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2021-22 announced by Union Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh, AP positions alongside four other States Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Telangana in the frontrunner category for their outstanding energy efficiency implementation.

The MoU envisages a roadmap for comprehensive collaboration, emphasising essential areas such as information exchange, joint research, and capacity building endeavours.
