The Telangana chapter of the Confederation of India Industry (CII) Indian Women Network (IWN) had recently organised the ‘Leadership Conclave 2023,’ in Hyderabad, to discuss on the topic, ‘Uplift: A Gender Equal DigitALL Future.’ Former Scientific Adviser to Raksha Mantri and president of the Aeronautical Society of India Dr G Satheesh Reddy inaugurated the Conclave and Joe Schulz, vice president, Carrier Digital delivered the Keynote address.
The conclave witnessed 350 participants and themes that were explored included, Women in Design and Innovation, Digital Transformation in the Workplace, and the Role of Technology and Women in Policy and Governance.
Dr G Satheesh Reddy, praised CII IWN for its efforts in facilitating the advancement of professional women into leadership positions within the corporate sector. He also urged the organisation to expand its initiatives to empower rural women, fostering their self-reliance. Reddy also mentioned that government departments are actively promoting gender parity across all their sectors and are witnessing growth in various dimensions as a result.
Sai Prasad, Vice Chairman of CII Telangana and Executive Director of Bharat Biotech International Limited, called upon CII IWN to focus on supporting women in the informal sector by promoting digitalization. He articulated his aspiration for achieving 50 per cent gender parity across all sectors by the year 2047.
Srividya Reddy, Chairwoman, CII IWN Telangana and Vice Chairperson, GNITS Hyderabad welcoming the participants emphasized that digital transformation holds the potential to narrow the gender equality divide.
Shobha Dixit, Director, Alpla; Tanuja Abburi, DEI Lead, Amazon; Shweta Kirkire, Space Applications Centre (Isro); Dr Rashmi Pimpale, CEO, RICH; were among the speakers.
