Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy virtually inaugurated/laid the foundation stone on Thursday for four projects envisaging an investment of Rs 1,425 crore.

The projects include Rs 610-crore bio-ethanol 500 KLPD plant and Rs 315-crore 160 KLPD bio-ethanol plant at Surveypalli in SPSR Nellore district, Rs 400-crore 16,000 TPA soluble instant coffee unit at Kuvvakolli in Tirupati district and Rs 100-crore 400-TDP edible oil refinery and 200-TPD solvent extraction project at Seethanagaram in Eluru district.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Rs 100-crore worth edible oil refinery by Godrej Agrovet Limited and laid foundation stones for three other companies. He unveiled the plaques of Rs 610 crore worth bio-ethanol manufacturing unit of Kribhco Green Energy Pvt Ltd, Rs 315 crore worth ethanol manufacturing unit by Vishwa Samudra Bio Energy Pvt Ltd and Rs 400 crore worth soluble coffee manufacturing unit CCL Food and Beverages Ltd from his camp office at Tadepalli near here.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy expressed happiness that the MoUs signed at the Global Investors’ Summit in Visakhapatnam have been translated into reality. He described the launching for four projects in one go as a wonderful moment and said the new units will provide direct and indirect employment to over 2,500 persons.

The Kribhco and Vishwa Samudra bio-ethanol units at Sarvepalli with a production capacity 500 and 200 kilo liters would provide jobs to over 1,000 and 500 persons respectively and will be a game-changer in the district’s industrial growth, he said.

CCL coffee manufacturing unit at Tirupati district with an annual production capacity of 16,000 tonnes will provide direct and indirect employment to 400 persons.

The Chief Minister thanked the industrialists for coming forward to establish these units and wished them well. “I am happy to note that the 400-tonne capacity edible oil unit in Eluru district has started its operations within nine months of giving permission. It is providing employment to 500 persons,” he said.

District Collectors, people’s representatives and officials of Industries Department along with the respective company representatives participated in the programme virtually.

IT and Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath, Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy, Special Chief Secretary R Karikal Valaven (Industries and Commerce), Agriculture Principal Secretary Chiranjeevi Choudary, Industries Joint Director Padmavati, AP Food Processing Corporation CEO L Sridhar Reddy, several industrialists and senior officials were present.
