Women Doctors from the Institute of Oncology, AIG Hospitals participate in a panel discussion conducted by FLO in Hyderabad on Friday

AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad held a programme on Friday to raise awareness about women related health issues with a focus on breast cancer and the importance of early screening. The initiative was organised in collaboration with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Ladies Organisation, Hyderabad chapter. A panel discussion was also conducted by FLO and women doctors from the Institute of Oncology, AIG Hospitals.

Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, Chairman, AIG Hospitals, addressed the gathering on the topic, “Gut Microbiome,” and how it governs different bodily functions. “The gut microbiome is sensitive, and many factors can negatively impact its balance. Modern lifestyles characterized by stress, antibiotics, excessive hygiene, and processed foods disrupt the harmony of these microorganisms,” Dr Reddy said.

Speaking on the joint initiative, Ritu Shah, Chairperson, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO), said: “FLO is honoured to partner with AIG Hospitals in this mission, and we are dedicated to ensuring that women across the country are well-informed about these diseases and understand the importance of early detection.”

Dr Pragnya Chirugupati, Consultant Breast Cancer Surgeon, AIG Hospitals, emphasized on the significance of early detection of Breast Cancer. She further said that through regular screenings, such as mammograms, self-examinations, and clinical check-ups, breast cancer can be detected in its early stages. Dr Sujana Priya discussed about the latest advancements in radiation therapy and how they are improving the lives of breast cancer patients.
