Rameswar Rao Jupally, the Founder & Chairman of My Home Group, a homoeopathy doctor-turned-real estate biggie with a fortune of Rs 7,300 crores, leads the Hyderabad chart of GROHE Hurun India Real Estate Rich List 2021, and is ranked at 11th position pan-India. According to 10th edition of Hurun Global Rich List 2021, Rameswar Rao Jupally and family are also ranked at 138 in India and 2,383 globally with a net worth of Rs 10,500 crore. He is the seventh richest person in Hyderabad.

Doctor to realtor

The business house of My Home traces its roots to a young Rao arriving in Hyderabad from a village in Mahabubnagar district in 1974. In five years, he had moved from being a homoeopathic doctor to a realtor.

He had set up his clinic at Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad in 1979. The area had just started developing. So a lot of people were interested in buying land in the locality. Some of his patients were real estate agents through whom he got initiated into the realty business.

He sold some plots and made money. In the same year, he invested around Rs 50,000 to develop land at Hayatnagar and sold it as open plots. After a few such projects, he got a break in the construction business in 1985, when he got the opportunity to construct apartments for JelgamVengal Rao under the development model at Begumpet. This started his journey in the construction area.

My Home Group is now a leader in the realty sector and also has three plants producing 8.5 million tonnes of cement every year. The group's brand, Maha Cement, posts an annual turnover of Rs 3,000 crore. In addition, it sells 30 MW of the total 70 MW of power produced by the group's captive power plants.

New projects

Recently on completion of its 35 years of operations the company has announced to take up amassive investment of Rs 30,000 crore in projects to be executed in Kokapet and Tellapur, Hyderabad adding about 40 million sq ft of real estate space over the next five years.

The company is likely to invest about Rs 15,000 crore in an integrated township in Tellapur spread over 250 acres while an integrated IT hub will be set up at Kokapet in about 80 acres with an investment of about Rs 15,000 crore. It believes Kokapet and Tellapur are Hyderabad's next most coveted commercial and residential destinations.

The commercial project at Kokapet will be among the largest office spaces in Asia with over 27 million square feet of space. This is being constructed using eco-friendly precast construction technology. At Tellapur, the company's projects- My Home Ankura (first villa project) and My Home Tridasa (premium lifestyle apartments) will include educational, retail, and entertainment facilities making it a holistic living experience.

The company, which has delivered 27 million square feet so far, is aiming to deliver eight million square feet, which is under various stages of construction. The company, now employs over 10,000 people with over 25 projects covering nearly 35 million square feet, having delivered homes to 10,000 customers. The company also has plans to create a sustainable city in Shamshabad.
