Medical oxygen cylinder racket busted in Vizag

The Drug Control Administration has busted a medical oxygen cylinder racket in the city. As per information received by Director General, Drugs Control Administration, Guntur, a decoy operation was conducted to catch illegal sale and black marketing of medical oxygen cylinders by one B Jagadeesh Kumar of Moray Smart Solutions at posh MVP Colony.
When Drugs Inspector D Suneeta VSP( V&I) contacted him over phone for medical oxygen, he told that he would get the stock in the evening. He had demanded Rs 55,000 per cylinder.
On Friday evening, he told that he had big cylinders only and the price was Rs 78,000.
The inspector along with Circle Inspector, Vigilance & Enforcement approached him by posing as customers. Later he told them to pay Rs 50,000 in cash and remaining on online.
As he was not having any licence to stock and sell medical oxygen, 10 medical oxygen cylinders of capacity 68 litres and two cylinders of capacity 48 litres were seized under the cover of Panchanama and Form-16 by PNVVS Kalyani, Drugs Inspector, VSP (Sales).
