Thanks to the demand for interior and lifestyle products from dwellers of this city, Hyderabad has gained the status of a rapidly growing hub for creativity and design. Hence, big names in the home décor segment are keen to set up their store in Hyderabad while marking presence in South India. This has led architects, interior designers and property owners to fly down to the city from Bangalore, Chennai and Kerala to shop for mid-luxury and luxury home décor needs, say design experts.

To celebrate design, art, and innovation and support indigenous designers with a platform to network and market their products, organiser, Design Democracy is hosting the first edition of premier design festival, Design Democracy 2023 from October 13–15, 2023 at N Convention in Hyderabad. Over 70 luxury brands and more than 20 artists from seven States will display their products related to furniture, lights, carpets, soft furnishings, home décor accessories and fine art.

On hosting the first edition in Hyderabad, Founder of Design Democracy, Pallika Sreewastav said, “Currently, the city is witnessing a boom in construction and sales of properties. The city has also established itself as one of the prime luxury markets in India. Earlier, for luxury interior and lifestyle products, Mumbai and Delhi were the go-to cities while Italy, Europe, Turkey was the shopper’s paradise, but now, Hyderabad is also on the list.” Home-grown brands like Sage Living and ESVEE Atelier find markets in the US, Europe and Singapore. Décor brands from other cities like that of Sarita Handa are setting up their stores in Hyderabad as there is a demand here for mid and luxury home interior products, Shailaja Patwari, Founder of Design Democacy added.
