T’gana HC issues notice to Jagan in illegal assets case

Vijayawada After extensively touring the flood-hit areas across Godavari delta areas, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday promised transparency in finalisation of beneficiaries for payment of compensation for crop loss.

During interaction with the flood victims and door-to-door visits in some of the areas in Godavari and other districts, he said the lists prepared by the officials will be put up for display at the YSR Rythu Bharosa Kendras. Those who suffered losses and find their names missing should raise their objection either at RBK or any sachivalayam. He said as part of the social audit, after verification all the eligible persons will be given compensation at the earliest.

Reddy said irrespective of the extent of damage to their houses due to floods, he had directed the officials to pay them a compensation of Rs 10,000 each immediately. He said a social audit has been introduced to ensure transparency. He said during the floods, the government took the decision to provide 25 kg rice to each affected family along with pulses, edible oil and vegetables.

He said if anyone did not get immediate succour they could lodge a complaint so that action will be taken against the erring officials. His visit, he said, was aimed at taking the feedback from the people on the relief and rehabilitation measures.
