Delhi Horror: Woman Pours Boiling Oil and Chili Powder on Husband While He Slept, Threatens to Repeat If He Screamed

In a horrifying South Delhi event, a man was left with serious burn injuries after his wife reportedly dumped a mixture of boiling oil and red chillies on him while he slept. He is known as Dinesh, a 28-year-old working at a pharmacy at the time of the incident, and he is right now fighting for his life at the ICU of Safdarjung Hospital.

🔥 The shocking assault

The police report stated that the form of an FIR was lodged at Ambedkar Nagar Police Station, when a man named Dinesh was in bed with his wife and eight-year-old daughter on the night of 3rd October 3rd, at about 3 A.M.

The man, Mr. Dinesh, made a statement to the police that on the 2nd of October, he had come home late, had dinner, and gone to bed as usual. “Around 3.15 am, I suddenly felt an intense burning pain on my chest and face. When I opened my eyes, I saw my wife standing with a pan of boiling oil and pouring it over me."e. Before I could react, she threw red chili powder on my burns,” Dinesh stated in his complaint.

When he tried to shout for help, his wife allegedly threatened,

“Agar shor machaya to aur garam tel daal doongi”

(If you shout, I will pour more hot oil on you.)

Unable to bear the pain, Dinesh screamed, prompting neighbours and the landlord’s family from the floor below to rush upstairs.

🚨 Neighbours Intervene

Anjali, the landlord’s daughter, told PTI, “My father went upstairs after hearing screams, but the door was locked from inside. After repeated knocking, the wife finally opened the door. Dinesh was writhing in pain, and she was trying to hide inside the house.”

Anjali further said, “When my father asked her what happened, she claimed she was taking him to the hospital but started walking in the opposite direction. That’s when my father stopped her, called an auto, and took Dinesh to the hospital himself.”

Dinesh was first taken to a nearby clinic, but due to the severity of his injuries—deep burns on his torso, face, and arms—he was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors have described his condition as “dangerous.”

⚖️ Police Action

The police reported that Dinesh and his wife are an eight-year-married couple, yet their relationship has been under some strain. A couple had filed a Crime Against Women (CAWS) complaint two years ago, but the same was compromised eventually.

The mother has now been charged with three crimes under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which are different sections according to Sections 118, 124, and 326 for causing serious bodily harm voluntarily using dangerous methods, causing serious bodily harm by acid or analogous substances, and causing injury by using fire or explosive substances.

“No arrest has been made so far,” a police officer confirmed.
