With an increased emphasis on car safety ratings by the Indian government, consumers are now considering not only the affordability of a car but also its crucial safety features. Among the factors that determine a car's safety, having six airbags can significantly enhance survivability in the event of an accident.

Six airbags in a car provide substantial protection to its occupants during front and side impacts, reducing injury severity and offering comprehensive coverage for both front and rear passengers. Recognizing customer preferences, automakers are now offering six airbags as a standard feature, even in cars priced under ₹10 lakh. Here is a selection of cars in this segment that provide six airbags:

Tata Nexon: The Tata Nexon is one of the safest cars in the under ₹10 lakh segment, boasting a 5-star Global NCAP rating and six airbags as a standard feature. It starts at ₹8.1 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Additional safety features include a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor, reverse parking camera, electronic stability program, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios: For a more affordable option, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is available starting at ₹5.84 lakh ex-showroom, and it includes six airbags as a standard feature. The car also offers electronic stability control, hill assist control, a driver rearview monitor, and more.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno: Maruti Suzuki's popular hatchback, the Baleno, now offers six airbags starting with the Zeta variant, priced at ₹8.38 lakh ex-showroom. In addition to the airbags, the Baleno includes features like a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, reverse parking sensor, and electronic stability program.

Hyundai Exter: Hyundai's recently launched Exter SUV, starting at ₹6 lakh ex-showroom, comes equipped with six airbags as standard. It's one of the most affordable SUVs offering this level of safety. Other safety features on the car include electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rearview camera, electronic stability control, hill start assist control, and more.

Toyota Glanza: Based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Toyota Glanza offers six airbags, starting with the Glanza G variant priced at ₹8.73 lakh ex-showroom. The Glanza also features vehicle stability control, ABS with EBD, hill hold control, and more.
