Sembcorp Industries secures MW wind-solar hybrid project from SJVN Ltd

Green Infra Wind Energy, a subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries, has secured a 440 MW wind-solar hybrid project from SJVN Ltd. This project is part of a larger 1.5 GW bid issued by SJVN in September 2023. The project will be developed under a build-own-operate model and will be connected to an Inter-state Transmission System (ISTS).

The power generated from this project will be sold to SJVN under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) lasting 25 years. It is expected to be operational within 24 months from the signing of the PPA. The funding for this project will come from a combination of internal funds and debt.

This project strengthens Sembcorp's renewable energy portfolio, bringing its total gross renewables capacity globally to 14.3 GW, which includes an acquisition of 245 MW currently pending completion.
