Bengaluru, 18 December IT services major Infosys has acquired Singaporean telecom major Singtel's delivery centre in Malaysia as the company eyes strengthening its presence in the communications, media and technology (CMT) vertical in the South East Asian region.

In a stock exchange filing, the company said the company is acquiring 100 per cent stake in Global Enterprise International Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. for a cash consideration of 6 million Singapore Dollars (around Rs 33.3 crore).

Global Enterprise International Malaysia is a subsidiary of Singtel which provides customer experience and technology services to clients. In FY21, the company had a revenue of Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) 67.4 million (around INR 118 crore).

"As part of a strategic partnership, Infosys is acquiring 100 per cent of the share capital of Singapore Telecommunications Limited's ("Singtel") delivery center in Malaysia - Global Enterprise International Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to bolster Infosys' presence in Malaysia, a strategic delivery and sales hub in South East Asia for global clients," Infosys said in a statement.

The company recently had also extended its digital innovation partnership with Australian Open till 2026.

"The extended collaboration with Tennis Australia will introduce enhanced broadcast match statistics and new initiatives to make tennis more accessible for all, while continuing to develop innovative digital stakeholder experiences," the company had said in a regulatory filing.

The company is all set to announce its third quarter results on January 12 of 2022.
