Rolls-Royce has inked a long-term agreement with Azad Engineering for the production and supply of intricate components for defence aircraft engines. The partnership positions Hyderabad-based Azad Engineering within the global supply chain for complex category components that contribute to Rolls-Royce's advanced aero engines.

Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Alex Zino, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Future Programmes, and Head of Global Networks at Rolls-Royce, emphasized the significance of collaboration in the company's success in India. He stated, "Strong collaboration has been at the heart of Rolls-Royce’s journey of success in India. As we work towards strengthening the defence ecosystem, we are happy to expand our supply chain in India in partnership with Azad Engineering. The sourcing of complex components from India for aero engine programmes further advances the goal of capability creation in the country."

Rolls-Royce's Senior Vice President for Defence in India and South-East Asia, Abhishek Singh, highlighted the agreement as a crucial step in leveraging the potential of Indian companies for the defence manufacturing ecosystem. Singh affirmed Rolls-Royce's commitment to building a stronger presence in India through local partnerships, aligning with the vision of an 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' or self-reliant India.

Rakesh Chopdar, Founder and CEO of Azad Engineering, expressed honor in being chosen as a strategic partner by Rolls-Royce for the production of critical and complex components for defence aircraft engines. He noted that bringing these components to India not only showcases Azad Engineering's capabilities but also marks a pivotal moment for the country's aerospace and defence industry, highlighting India's advancing prowess in advanced manufacturing.

Rolls-Royce's robust ecosystem in India encompasses strategic local partnerships, joint ventures, a resilient supply chain, a skilled talent pool, engineering capabilities, digital solutions, and service delivery capabilities.
