How Hyderabad's Saikesh Goud Ditches Rs 28 Lakhs to Hatch Country Chicken!

Saikesh Goud, an IIT graduate, made a remarkable decision to leave behind his high-paying job, which provided him with a substantial monthly income of Rs 28 lakhs, to pursue his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. He founded his own company, Country Chicken Co., which has seen remarkable success, with a monthly revenue of Rs 1 crore.

Saikesh's academic journey began with the completion of his mechanical engineering degree at IIT Varanasi. He initially worked as a software professional, earning an impressive annual salary package of Rs. 28 lakhs. During this time, his passion for entrepreneurship and a unique vision started taking shape.

Recognizing Saikesh's dedication and aspirations, Hemambar Reddy, one of the co-founders, decided to join forces with him in pursuit of their shared dream. Together with Mohd. Sami Uddin, they co-founded Country Chicken Co. Hemambar Reddy's expertise in the poultry industry and meat business, combined with Saikesh's commitment, contributed to the rapid growth of their venture, even though their initial entry into the world of country chicken faced skepticism.

The company successfully established the first authentic country chicken restaurants in India, particularly in Hyderabad, with locations in Kukatpally and Pragathi Nagar, providing employment opportunities for around 70 individuals. Additionally, they established vital connections with over 15,000 poultry farmers across southern states, procuring Country Chicken chicks from these farmers at competitive prices.

Country Chicken Co. also took an admirable initiative to educate farmers on best practices for maintaining the health and well-being of their chickens. This approach allowed the company to provide customers with delicious, high-quality chicken while maintaining stringent quality standards.

The company achieved impressive revenue of Rs 5 crore during the fiscal year 2022–2023. Notably, from January 2022 to April 2023, the company experienced significant growth, with its monthly revenue increasing from Rs 3 lakhs to Rs 1.2 crores. The Country Chicken Co. has set ambitious targets, aiming to achieve Rs 50 crore in revenue during the 2023–2024 fiscal year.
