Fernandez Hospital adopts hub & spoke model
Hyderabad: Fernandez Hospital has adopted a hub-and-spoke model to serve more pregnant women and their babies in Hyderabad. It has completed 75 years of mother and newborn care services services in the city. During this significant milestone, it has announced opening a new clinic at Necklace Road on Tuesday. This is the first satellite facility will act as a hub for its other clinics that are far away in the city.
US Consulate General Jennifer Larson was the chief guest. She has inaugurated the latest outpatient facility in the presence of Fernandez Foundation CMD Dr Evita Fernandez, Fernandez Hospital Senior Consultant Paediatrician Dr Pramod Gaddam and other staff of the hospital. Spanning 40,000 sq ft, the facility is one of largest outpatient clinics, offering an extensive range of services.
On the occasion, Jennifer Larson said: “I congratulate the entire team of Fernandez on completing 75 years of remarkable and unparalleled services. I am sure that this new outpatient facility will be committed to providing holistic and equitable healthcare services to women and newborns in the region.”
Speaking about the expansion plans, Dr Evita Fernandez said, “Our hospital is a self-funded, value-based and service-driven organisation with a purpose that cannot be diluted or destroyed. We are not in a hurry to set up more clinics to expand our business. We will be opening our next clinic over a couple of years. We may consider raising funds in future if we find like-minded investors. ”
“Overall, we have 320 beds across three major hospitals at Bogulkunta, Hyderguda and Banjara Hills. The monthly average percentage of C section surgeries at our hospitals stood at 17 per cent, which is among the lowest in the country. We aim to make it below 15 per cent, but it seems to be quite unrealistic in this generation,” she informed.
The new facility will run special clinics for women with twin pregnancies, medical complications and those desirous of a normal birth following a C section.
