Hyderabad: Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited (GEMPL), a subsidiary of Greaves Cotton Limited, recently completed a notable journey with their new electric scooter, 'The Nex Big Thing'. This scooter traveled from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (K2K), covering a distance of over 10,000 kilometers. The journey, which began on January 16th, 2024, departed from Salal Dam in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, and lasted for 45 days.

During this expedition, 'The Nex Big Thing' encountered various terrains, weather conditions, and temperature changes. Despite the challenges, the electric scooter completed its journey, setting several records. These achievements include:

- The longest electric scooter ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, spanning over 10,000 kilometers in a single journey.

- Visiting 115 cities and towns in a single ride, exploring India's diverse culture and heritage.

- Towing a pickup truck weighing 1860 kg, with an additional 140 kg weight from two passengers, for 2 kilometres.

- Creating the biggest electric scooter brand logo on the white sands, measuring an impressive 179.8ft x 95.2 ft or 17100 sq. ft in total area covered.

Sanjay Behl, CEO of Greaves Electric Mobility, remarked that the journey symbolizes the resilience of the human spirit and technological advancements. He stated that this accomplishment is a testament to their mission of promoting electric mobility.

The expedition highlighted various aspects of India, including educational institutions, clean energy initiatives, and cultural festivities. 'The Nex Big Thing' visited places such as Reasi, where lithium reserves were discovered, educational excellence centers, Bhadla Solar Park, wind farms in Nagercoil, and underprivileged schools. The scooter also participated in local celebrations, explored ancient sites, and navigated challenging terrains like the Thar Desert, Western Ghats, and Chenab Rail Bridge.

Throughout the journey, 'The Nex Big Thing' engaged with Ampere dealerships across approximately 400 locations, interacting with partners and customers to showcase its features and capabilities. This journey demonstrated the adaptability and resilience of electric mobility and highlighted the potential for sustainable transportation solutions in India.
