How this trait reading startup giving positive start to people's life

It certainly is much more than writing on the wall. Your handwriting can help in identification, evaluation, understanding one's persona, an individual's psychological behaviour. And handwriting analysis or trait reading is being increasingly used in analysing a person for recruitment, business compatibility, personal relations, match making, career guidance, investigation, motivation and gaining the insight of the person's personality. Naveen Toshniwal, an alumnus of Kolkata's St Xavier's Collegiate School and an engineering graduate of Jadavpur University, has now come up with the first of its kind, professional online handwriting analysis service in India, called "Trait Reader". Speaking to Bizz Buzz exclusively, the founder and the helmsman of the Jaipur-based startup, shares his thoughts on different aspects of handwriting analysis and the way forward

What is handwriting analysis or grapho analysis? Did you know that our minds have a direct connection with the way we write?

They do. And grapho analysis is the science of studying a person's handwriting traits and analysing his/her character in detail through the strokes in the written text. Handwriting analysis gives a fairly accurate idea of the person's positive and negative traits. And trait reading helps in improving personality and the social relation between the near and dear ones. For example, teacher can determine the qualities of students and their achievements, helps in improving the self-reflection of a student.

How did this science or methodology evolve?

The science of Grapho Analysis goes back to around 2000 BC in the times of Aristotle, when he discovered the relation between the human mind and their handwriting. Interestingly, Graphology is being used extensively in Europe for a long time now. In France, in particular, 90 per cent of all recruiters/placement agencies turn to hand writing analysis to place the most compatible and suitable person.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Handwriting Analysis is used by big US corporations… this trend will only grow as human resource managers have less and less time to assess the huge number of apparently similar applicants for each position. The popularity of grapho analysis picked up only a few decades ago, when this science started getting widely accepted as an aid in recruitments, guidance to students/teachers/parents, career counselling and last but not the least, self improvement.

You claim to have now come up with the first of its kind, professional online Handwriting Analysis service in India, called 'Trait Reader'. What exactly is this?

Trait Reading analysis is a science used for creating personality profile, knowing the characteristics of the writer by examining the strokes of the handwriting. Besides creating a complete personality profile, many other traits are revealed in the handwriting analysis, such as morality, past experiences, hidden talents, how one would react in different situations, etc.

With trait-based instruction, students gain ownership over the learning process and become more active and purposeful learners. Parents can guide their children based on trait analysis for self-improvement and choosing the right career most suited to their characteristic traits. Love-birds or life partners use trait reading for checking the compatibility among them. Not only this, companies and corporates also use this science for recruiting better employees in their organisations.

But how are you different and unique?

We thoroughly examine every aspect of the handwriting. In our fully equipped hand writing analysis laboratory, we use digital enhancement of the handwriting sample, plus a signature grid and we analyse manually for carefully examining all aspects of the handwriting. What is required by us is a scanned copy of a full page of handwriting followed by his/her signature. We will then provide the detailed analysis of the character traits within 2-3 business days.

One gets something more than just the grapho analysis report. One gets full handwriting analysis report which includes a short summary of individual traits and overall personality in a descriptive form. This summary would give one a unique view about the character of the person. We guarantee to protect the confidentiality of client's identifiable information which can be personal or official. Considering the confidential nature of the information and data you provide, we assure not to disclose it to anybody.

Analysis of human character is just the first part. The most important and interesting is Grapho Therapy. It is a scientific method used to enhance the positive traits effectively and overcome the negative traits, none other than by making simple changes in the strokes of one's handwriting.

What are the traits and unique aspects of one's personality that can be deciphered through this analysis?

Almost every trait and unique aspects of one's personality can be deciphered including intelligence, keenness to learn, friendliness, loyalty, emotional chart, frankness or secretiveness, determination, enthusiasm, self-confidence, short-tempered or cool, egoistic, sensitive, organising ability, engineering ability, creativity and imagination power, initiative level, ambition, will-power, dishonesty, greed, concentration power, precision, independence, resentment and many more.

Why do I make "o" in such a rounded manner or why is the loop of "y" so long? These strokes in your handwriting tell about one's character traits and lead to major behaviour study of one's personality. And more importantly, one starts experiencing the desired changes and improvements in about two-three weeks' time by diligently practicing the necessary strokes for just 5-10 minutes a day!!!

How can companies, business organisations and placement agencies use this meaningfully and how to they stand to gain?

Mind you that it helps in detecting the positive and negative traits of candidates/employees for specific assignments / suitability of a person for the organization (Just to give you an example: A person with traits of accuracy, thrift and concentration power would be a good accountant). It helps in identifying the person's nature to avoid frauds or misdeeds. It helps to know a person even before the interview / job assignment. Subsequently, it improves the teamwork and compatibility with other team members. And it helps in improving overall performance of the employees by judging the right job for them.

So, what next? What is the way forward?

We have just developed a therapy on the basis of trait reading or handwriting analysis, by way of recommending change of certain key strokes, which reflect negative traits. And our next challenge is to make trait reader scalable in vernacular space.
