Ranga Reddy district industrial mix has a total of 3,474 units of all sizes

Hyderabad: The State government is facilitating entrepreneurs in getting all clearances for establishing an industry through TS-iPASS in online mode. The applications are directly routed to departments concerned and clearances are also issued online.

TS-iPASS issued online clearances to as many as 968 enterprises and got 2,080 other clearances from various departments as on June 2020. These include micro (251), small (451), medium (51), large (103), mega-manufacturing (12), mega-infra (100).

RANGA Reddy district has the highest Gross District Domestic Product of Rs 1,73,143 crore for 2018-19 at current prices and registered highest district wise per capita income of Rs 5,78,978 in 2018-19 at current prices in the State. The GDDP, calculated on the same lines as GSDP, the district stands on top for FY2019.

Ranga Reddy district, which surrounds the Telangana State capital Hyderabad, has a population of 24,26,243 with 71.88 per cent literacy rate provides a healthy demographic dividend for the prospective industries. The district is recognized as a blend of human capital with different skill sets for the mega, large, medium and micro industries. The district also has an identified potential for setting up agro and food processing industries.

The district is well connected with Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad. The National Highway 44 from Varanasi to Kanyakumari passes through the district connecting Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

The mineral wealth of the district comprises Quartz, Feldspar, road metal, laterite, black granite, fuller's earth. The principal food grain crops are paddy, jowar, bajra, and Raagi. The principal commercial crops include Cotton, Groundnut, Castor, chillies and maize. That apart, the horticultural map of Ranga Reddy is dotted with crops like mango, grape, guava, pomegranate and papaya.

As far as industries are concerned, the district has 9 mega industries with Rs 2570.22 crore investment employing 4,400 people and 103 large industries with an investment of Rs 84 crore providing employment to 11,117 people.

The 62 medium industries in the district with an investment of Rs 51 crore are providing employment to 5,251 people. The Medium Scale Enterprises (MSEs) total to 3,276 units with an investment of Rs 2889.65 crore that provide employment to 57,097 people.

The proximity to the airport and national highways is huge positive factor for the establishment of the pharmaceutical, hardware, software, defence-related and packaging industries.

The Talakondapally, Amangal, Yacharam, Manchal, Kadthal, Keshampet, Madgul mandals are home to mines and minerals. Land pockets, which are comparatively at lower prices, are suitable for setting up mineral-based industries, poultry, and solar power plants.

Similarly, Kothur, Nandigama, Farooqnagar, Shadnagar are along NH-44, Chevella, Shabad and Moinabad mandals are located nearer to the State capital.

Serilingampally and Rajendranagar mandals with the availability of international level infrastructure are identified as suitable for SEZs, and software companies, financial solution companies, corporate, and technology based companies.

The current industrial units mix includes micro (2182), small (1,094), medium (62) large (103) mega - manufacturing (9) mega-infra (24) with a total of 3,474 units.

The mega industries in the district include P&G Products Pvt Ltd at Kothur, Bhagwati Products Ltd, Kandukur: Shrinath Roropack Pvt Ltd, Farooqnagar; Renewsys India Pvt Ltd, Maheswaram; Vijayneha Polymers Pvt. Ltd. Unit – III, Farooqnagar; Procter and Gamble Home Products Pvt. Ltd (Diapers), Kothur; MSN Laboratories Pvt Ltd., Formulation Division-II, Nandigama; Casper Pharma Pvt. Ltd. GMR SEZ, Shamshabad; and Cronus Pharma Specialities India Pvt. Ltd., at Shamshabad.

Industrial Incentive Policy

Under the New Industrial Promotion Policy of Telangana unveiled in 2014, the government had approved T-IDEA (Telangana State Industrial Development and Entrepreneur Advancement) incentive scheme, T-PRIDE (Telangana State Program for Rapid Incubation of Dalit Entrepreneurs incentive scheme) and Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System (TS-iPASS).

Under these schemes, the prospective industrialists have been provided plots at Hardware Park-1, Fab City or e-City, industrial park, Adibatla, IT/ITES, Aerospace Adibalta (SEZ), industrial park Nadergul-Precision Engineering Park, industrial park Mankhal, IDA Katedhan, IDA Kothur, Autonagar, Hayathnagar, Hardware Park Phase-II, EMC Maheshwaram, plastic park, MSME Ibrahimpatnam and industrial park Chandanvelly.

Out of a total of 1,009 plots in an extent of 4,859.07 acres, so far, 2,448 have been occupied and 488 have been offered to the prospective industrialists.

In the Cyberabad zone, in the district, out of 18 parks, one IT park is at Gachibowli and 17 at Software Units Layout, Madhapur. The proposed parks include: hardware park phase II for IT/ITES; industrial park Maheshwaram for electronic hardware manufacturing cluster (SEZ); MSME Ibrahimpatnam for fibreglass; Tummaluru for plastic product manufacture. Ibrahimpatnam Khalsa, Eliminedu, Kappapahad have been identified for land acquisition to the tune of 673 acres for establishment of various industrial units. The Pharma City is coming up in an extent of 14,000 acres; the land is in the process of acquisition.

Under Cyberabad zone, IT/ITES parks are proposed in an extent of about 731 acres at eight places. They include: Budvel village, Puppalguda village, VDOCT lands, Himayathsagar village, Kismathpur village in Gandipet mandal,Nanakramguda village, Miyapur village in Serilingampally mandal and Premavathipeta village in Rajendranagar mandal.
