Bank Holiday September 3, 2025: Are Banks Open or Closed in India?

If you’re planning to visit a bank branch this week, here’s what you need to know. Banks in Ranchi will remain closed on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, for Karma Puja, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar.

In the rest of India, banking operations will continue as usual. With the festive season in full swing, several state-specific holidays in September 2025 may impact bank branch availability across the country.

Note: In addition to these, banks will also remain closed on all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

Digital Banking Services Remain Active

Even on holidays, digital banking platforms including UPI, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, and ATMs will continue to operate normally. Customers are encouraged to use online banking for urgent transactions, bill payments, and other financial tasks.
