Haryana Political Crisis - Dushyant Seeks Floor Test Amidst Turmoil

In a new development in the ongoing political drama in Haryana, CM Nayab Singh Saini spoke to the media on Friday, accompanied by three Jannayak Janata Party MLAs. Saini accused the opposition of misleading the public.

Despite claims by the Congress and the JJP that his government is in the minority following three Independent MLAs switching sides, Saini stood firm. He challenged the opposition to reveal how many legislators support them and asked them to submit this information in writing to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

Key Updates on the Haryana Political Crisis -

1.A group of Congress leaders plan to meet Governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Friday, May 10. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda stated that the BJP government is in the minority, and they appreciate Dushyant Chautala's support for the Congress.

2.The Congress delegation, led by Deputy CLP leader Aftab Ahmed and Chief Whip CLP B B Batra, intends to meet the governor.

The Congress party wrote to the governor's office on Thursday, requesting a meeting to present a memorandum on the current political situation in the state.

3.As pressure mounted from JJP's Dushyant Chautala for a floor test, reports emerged of a secretive meeting between three JJP MLAs and former CM Manohar Lal Khattar at Minister Mahipal Dhanda’s residence in Panipat.

4.Mahipal Dhanda denied such a meeting took place, but sources suggested that the JJP trio of Devender Babli, Ramniwas Surjakhera, and Jogi Ram Sihag were not the only ones considering options. The JJP had issued a show-cause notice to these three MLAs the previous day over alleged anti-party activities.

5.Meanwhile, J P Nadda, the national president of JJP’s former ally BJP, will hold a roadshow and address a rally in Haryana's Panchkula and Chandigarh, respectively.

6.On May 7, the Haryana government faced a setback when three independent MLAs withdrew support, leaving the government in a minority. These MLAs decided to support the Congress.

7.Despite this setback, the BJP remains confident, with former CM Manohar Lal Khattar claiming that several Congress and JJP leaders are in contact with his party.

8.These events unfolded during the Lok Sabha elections and just two months after Nayab Saini took office as CM, replacing Khattar.
