Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Hyderabad and surrounding districts, forecasting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms through Saturday.

This comes after Monday’s intense showers disrupted daily life in parts of the city, bringing traffic to a standstill and flooding low-lying areas.

🌧️ More Rainfall Expected in Hyderabad and Nearby Districts

According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, heavy rain is expected in isolated areas of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Sangareddy districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds between 30–40 km/h are also predicted.

The IMD has urged residents to stay indoors during intense spells and take necessary precautions.

🌦️ Five-Day Rain Forecast Across Telangana

In its latest daily weather bulletin, the IMD stated that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to continue across several Telangana districts for the next five days. While the southwest monsoon remains weak, local weather disturbances are triggering isolated heavy rains.
