A grand ₹60,799 crore infrastructure plan including new airports, ropeways, highways, expressways, and public buildings has been announced by Telangana bearing the vision of Telangana Rising–2047. Telangana is set to make a giant leap in infrastructure with an extravagant state government announced plan of ₹60,799 crore comprising the new airports, ropeways, expressways, and elevated corridors among others. The announcement made was envisioned by the Telangana Rising Global Summit–2047, and the government's long-term development program and two-year performance were thus exhibited.
New Airports, Cargo Services to Power Regional Growth
Work on Warangal, Adilabad, and Ramagundam new airports has been started according to a report by the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department. The R & B Department also informed that the Warangal Airport will next year be the center of cargo services which will help regional exports, MSMEs, and trade flows.
Ropeways to Boost Tourism at Key Pilgrimage and Heritage Sites
Telangana is considering the construction of ropeways at key tourist attractions such as Yadagirigutta to facilitate movement of tourists and pilgrims and make the regions with hilly terrains more accessible.
The proposed ropeways will enable the travelers to have a nice and fast experience during their trips; hence they will be safer and more convenient.
Massive ₹60,799 Crore Infrastructure Plan Under Telangana Rising–2047
The mega projects of ₹60,799 crore, however, will be the focus of the "mirror-smooth" world-class roads that promise durability and superior travel all through the state.
419 Roads to Be Built Under HAM Model
The government will build 419 roads across 32 packages at Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) costing ₹11,399 crore. This model lowers the maintenance burden while ensuring the underdeveloped areas have superior quality, long-lasting road networks.
Highway Upgrades and Major Corridor Projects in the Pipeline
Fast-tracking of several major projects:
Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway:
Improvement of the black spots identified for accidents with an approved budget of ₹288 crore.
Six-lane expansion project:
The estimated project cost—₹10,400 crore; DPR is being prepared.
Regional Ring Road (RRR):
Telangana's largest project of ₹36,000 crore.
New Inter-State Connectivity Corridors
Hyderabad–Amaravati–Machilipatnam corridor DPR work has started.
Mannanur–Srisailam elevated corridor has been planned at a cost of ₹8,000 crore.
These corridors will not only benefit religious tourism but also facilitate interstate commerce.
Rs 6,617 Crore Projects Cleared Under the Congress Government
The Congress government since its accession to power has approved:
239 infrastructure works
1,659 km roads upgraded/constructed
62 new bridges
The total of cleared works amounts to ₹6,617.86 crore.
Telangana Set to Host the Indian Road Congress (IRC) Conference
The state is hosting the IRC—the Indian Road Congress conference of international repute next year, where the event is expected to attract major investments in the road and transport sectors.
Record Promotions in R&B Department
For the first-time in almost a decade, there were mass promotions in the R & B department:
118 Assistant Engineers → Deputy Engineers
64 Deputy Engineers → Executive Engineers
The aim is to quicken project execution through the recruitment of technically strong leaders.
Public Buildings Worth ₹7,000 Crore Nearing Completion
In the last two years, the government has constructed public infrastructure covering more than one crore sq ft—the maximum in ten years. Among the ongoing projects, the following ones are expected to be functioning next year:

Government hospitals
New medical colleges
Statewide service delivery will become much more effective due to these developments.
