Residents in Madhapur booked for obstructing demolition by HYDRAA

The Madhapur police have filed charges against three residents for obstructing the demolition of illegal structures by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) at Sunnam Cheruvu in Guttala Begumpet on September 8.
The individuals involved include Venkatesh (35), a driver; his wife, Lakshmi (28), a daily wage worker; and Venkatesh’s brother, Naresh. In a desperate attempt to prevent the demolition of their homes, the trio threatened self-immolation, pouring kerosene over themselves.
A. Lakshminarayana, an Assistant Executive Engineer, lodged a complaint against the three residents. He reported that their threats of self-immolation hindered his ability to carry out his duties as a public servant. An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
