Medicover celebrates NICU graduates on World Prematurity Day

Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals, Hitec City, on Monday celebrated World Prematurity Day by bringing together NICU graduates, their families, and the medical teams that supported them through their earliest battles for survival. The event honoured the millions of babies born prematurely each year, spotlighting the resilience of families and the relentless commitment of healthcare professionals.
Globally, nearly 15 million babies are born preterm annually, with India accounting for around 3.5 million — one of the highest burdens worldwide. Medicover Woman & Child Hospitals has emerged as a leading centre for advanced neonatal care, combining expertise, technology and compassion to drive strong survival outcomes for preterm infants.
In the past four years alone, the hospital has treated over 1,200 newborns, including 680 premature babies, supported by its 25-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU is equipped with some of the most sophisticated neonatal technologies available, contributing to low complication rates and improved long-term outcomes.
