HYDRAA Telangana demolishes 262 illegal structures, recovers 111.72 acres

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has released an update on its ongoing efforts to remove illegal structures and recover land within GHMC limits. Since its inception in July, HYDRAA has successfully demolished 262 encroachments, reclaiming 111.72 acres of land.
One of the most significant operations took place on September 8 at Ameenpur Lake, where 24 encroachments, including four sheds and 20 compound walls, were cleared from 51.78 acres.
Key Demolition Activities:
Chinthal Cheruvu: 54 asbestos-roofed structures, including one owned by BRS leader Ratnakaram Sai Raju, were demolished.
Nandagiri Hills: 16 encroachments were removed, with the support of MLA Danam Nagender. This included the demolition of a compound wall designated for a park on August 9.
Bhumruq Dowla Lake (Rajendranagar): A six-floor building belonging to AIMIM legislator Mohmad Mubeen and a three-storied building owned by his party leader Mirza Rahmat Beig were demolished.
Osmansagar and Gandipet Lakes (August 18): Structures belonging to Pallam Anand (brother of M.M. Pallam Raju), G.V. Bhasker Rao (owner of Kaveri Seeds and former TTD member), Sunil Reddy (BJP candidate for Manthani), and Anupama (wife of Srinivas, owner of a Pro Kabaddi franchise) were demolished.
Thummidikunta Lake (Madhapu): Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention was demolished on August 24 to protect the lake.
HYDRAA's actions highlight its commitment to reclaiming encroached lands and preserving Hyderabad's environmental assets.
