The Hyderabad Traffic Police issued a public advisory on Monday alerting citizens about the possibility of intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall during the late hours of the day.
According to the bulletin, storms are expected to impact the city between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with moderate to heavy rainfall likely. Authorities have advised residents to restrict non-essential travel during these hours.
The forecast has prompted the Hyderabad Police and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's Disaster Response Force (GHMC-DRF) to issue an orange alert. Citizens are urged to remain indoors and plan their commute ahead of time to avoid disruptions. Organizations are also advised to implement staggered logouts or work-from-home options for employees where feasible.
"We request the public to stay updated through official Hyderabad Traffic Police and GHMC/DRF channels for real-time alerts and route updates," the department stated.
