In Hyderabad’s bustling Madhapur IT corridor, a line of over 30 food stalls, including biryani, fried rice, kathi rolls, and juice outlets, is creating severe traffic congestion during peak hours. Patrons parking their vehicles haphazardly—often occupying half the road—are making it difficult even for autos to navigate the narrowed lanes.
Auto and app–based drivers report that rush-hour traffic worsens due to vehicles parked near the divider and pavement. While some stalls have been removed recently by authorities—leading to a slight improvement—locals say further clearance may be needed to ease congestion.
Stall owners, however, argue they hold valid licenses approved by GHMC and have been operating in the area for over a decade. They emphasize their livelihoods depend on this spot and that authorities only asked smaller vendors to delay opening hours—from 6 pm to 8 pm—to manage traffic flow
Local police are overseeing the situation. ACP Traffic Kontham Reddy confirms that while fines are being issued to unlicensed stalls, others have received high court permission to remain open until they're relocated to alternate sites.
