Yadadri Power Plant On Track For May 2025 Completion: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has said that the work on Yadadri power plant at Damaracherla in Nalgonda district will be completed by May 2025 and 4,000 MW of electricity produced there will be connected to the grid by the time. Bhatti Vikramarka along with Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday made an aerial inspection of Yadadri power plant and later, they flagged off a train carrying coal to the power plant at the YTPS take off point at Damaracharla. Speaking to the media later, the Deputy Chief Minister outlined ambitious energy plans for Telangana’s future.
"By May 2025, we will complete the Yadadri thermal power plant and connect 4,000 MW of electricity to the grid. Today, we successfully integrated the power generated from Stage-1 of the Yadadri Power Plant with the grid," he said. Bhatti also spoke about future power requirements and the State’s readiness to meet growing demand.
"Considering the increasing electricity needs across the State, we have estimated a demand of 22,288 MW by 2028-29 and 31,809 MW by 2034-35. The State government is advancing with strategic decisions to ensure that future demand is met without interruptions," he said. Highlighting the State’s initiatives to enhance energy production sustainably, Bhatti said the State government is taking robust measures to prevent any power shortages in the future.
