Weather Update: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms to Lash Hyderabad by Afternoon, IMD Issues Alert
Heavy rains and thunderstorms are hitting several parts of Telangana, including Hanmakonda, Nalgonda, and Jangaon. Fresh storm cells forming over Medak and Sangareddy are expected to reach Hyderabad by Tuesday afternoon, warns IMD.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms started tormenting various districts of Telangana since Tuesday morning. Thunderstorms with heavy rain and lightning were reported at several places in Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Yadadri-Bhongir, Nalgonda, and Nagarkurnool.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms continue over various parts of Telangana.
Rain has been reported in Hanmakonda, Jangaon, Nalgonda, and Yadadri-Bhongir Districts.
Now the storms are being formed over Medak and Sangareddy and would move into Hyderabad by noon.
IMD has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms over different districts of Telangana.

These storms will now continue for a few more hours and then shift towards the Districts of Warangal, Mahabubabad, Suryapet, Rangareddy, and Vikarabad: IMD.
A Brief Account of New Storm Cells Near Hyderabad
Adverse meteorological phenomena affirmed existence east northwest of Hyderabad; moving gradually southeast. Rainfall would be heavy over the state capital due to accompanying wind gusts and lightning incidences by Tuesday afternoon.
People, therefore, are requested to remain indoors during thunder affairs and not to step out into open spaces; those traveling by road are requested to smartly plan their journey well, as some of the important routes could well get waterlogged, thus reducing visibility.
IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The IMD has warned east and west regions of Telangana of a yellow precipitation warning until the next 24 hours with thunder and lightning.
Forecasts and updates shall be issued in detail later in the day as activity around the storm unfolds.
