Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to host Delhi Capitals in match 55 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday. While fans gear up for a high-stakes clash, the weather forecast has introduced a note of uncertainty.
Weather expert Balaji Tarini has forecast scattered intense thunderstorms across parts of Telangana, particularly during the late afternoon and continuing into the night. Hyderabad could experience showers during the match window, and the possibility of rain interruptions during the SRH vs DC encounter cannot be ruled out.
According to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in Hyderabad on Sunday, was recorded at 35.2 degrees Celsius—5 degrees below normal for this time of year. The city experienced a minimum temperature of 24.0 degrees Celsius early Monday, marking a 2-degree departure from the seasonal norm.
The local forecast for Monday indicates a partly cloudy sky with a chance of rain, thunderstorms, or dust storms in and around Hyderabad. The temperature is expected to peak at 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is projected at 26 degrees Celsius. Meteorological predictions hint at a continuation of these conditions through the week, with intermittent cloud cover and a persistent threat of thunderstorms likely through May 11.
Tarini also warned of widespread storm activity across Telangana, especially in northern and central districts. He noted that these regions are expected to face severe weather during the late afternoon to midnight hours.
